Do you ever get sick of me saying the same thing?

Weather: 5-6 inches fell yesterday and cold today

Trail Conditions: As good as thy can get

Sorry but I am at a loss for words this morning.  Just tired I guess, but we only have one more week to go and then we turn into a ghost town again for about 8 months.  We sold a lot of beefs yesterday, today I imagine will be about the same.  Kristie is working today, she is happy to be back, so stop on by and see her.

Trail riding after March 31st in Michigan

Weather: Mild

Trail Conditions: Very Good and Holding

OK i got the info on trail riding after March 31st.  The DNR Multi purpose trails are the only ones that are legal to ride starting April 1st.  That would be trail 8 from Bergland to Sidnaw, Trail 2 from Marenisco to Iron River, Parts of 13 going to Rockland and the Bill Nichols from Greenland north.  The rest of the snowmobile trails are officially closed due to private property easements and insurance liability.  The good news is you have two more weekends to ride………

Nice Tits,

Get in the Truck.

Still got snow

Weather: Temps are cooperating

Trail Conditions: Good as they are going to be

Not much to say about the trails out there, the last few days we got 6-8 inches maybe more in places, a good wet one too.  Temps look like they are cooperating for the next two weekends so come on up and get a last ride in. We have some of the best conditions of the year right now………….

Two weekends left to Snowmobile in Michigan

Weather: Temps are good and snow is fresh

Trail Conditions: Jacob says they are awesome

Groomers are going, snow is falling and temps are cooperating.  Mild during the day and cold at night, you have 2 more weekends left for sure.  I am not sure what the law is about coming up snowmobiling after March 31st but I will contact the DNR and find out.  I gotta go and try to fix my plow truck today, see you this weekend…………

A London lawyer runs a stop sign and gets pulled over by an Irish cop. He thinks that he is smarter than the cop because he is a lawyer from LONDON and is certain that he has a better education then any Irish cop. He decides to prove this to himself and have some fun at the Irish cop’s expense!

Irish cop says, “License and registration, please.”

London Lawyer says, “What for?”

Irish cop says, “Ye didnae come to a complete stop at the stop sign.”

London Lawyer says, “I slowed down, and no one was coming.”

Irish cop says, “Ye still didnae come to a complete stop. License and registration,   please”

London Lawyer says, “What’s the difference?”

Irish   cop says, “The difference is, ye huvte come to complete stop, that’s the law. License and registration, please!”

London Lawyer says, “If you can show me the legal difference between slow down and stop, I’ll give you my license and registration and you give me the ticket. If not, you let me go and don’t give me the ticket.”

Irish cop says, “Sounds fair. Exit your vehicle, sir.”

The London Lawyer exits his vehicle.

The Irish cop takes out his baton and starts beating the living crap out of the lawyer and says, “Daeye want me to stop, or just slow doon?”

Lake Gogebic Still Grooming

Weather: It’s snowing again

Trail Conditions: Still good

Groomers are going until the end of the month.  We are expecting snow over the next 2 days.  And it is going to snow, my plow truck is down.  6-9 inches is expected.  The trails are going to last until April, mild temps during the day and cold temps at night are forecasted, so we are good for a while.  Becarefull riding the Lake because Ice Fishermen have pulled their shacks and there are some big ass berms out there.

I ordered more beef for the weekend so come on in when my last supply is gone I am done cooking beefs for the season.  I should have enough for this weekend and next weekend though.

I heard a rumor that Beer Belly Bob bought Bret and Dawn from Iowa a drink up at the Konteka  the other day, naw it has got to be a rumor LOL.

Kuivi and Pat lived near a bay by Lake Gogebic.

It was early winter and the lower portion of the bay had frozen over.

Kuivi asked Pat if she would walk across the frozen part of the cove to the Hoop N’ Holler and get him some Blind Robbins and beer.

She asked him for some money, but he told her, “Nah, just put it on our tab.  Old man Maves won’t mind.”

So Pat, being the good mate walked across the ice, got the Blind Robbins and beer and then walked back home across the bay.

When she got home with the items she said, “Kuivi, you always tell me not to run up the tab at the Hoop N’ Holler.  Why didn’t you just give me some money?”

Kuivi replied, “Well, Pat, I didn’t want to send you out there with cash when I wasn’t sure how thick the ice was!”

Happy St Patrick’s Day from Bergland Bay Bar

Weather: It’s snowing

Trail Conditions: Still good

Happy St Patty’s Day everyone.  It’s March 17th already, 2 more weeks until the season ends officially.  And yes we are still grooming until the end of March.  Snow is in the forecast and my prediction is we are going to get a lot of snow this week.  I am 100% certain, I know this because my damn plow truck is broke.

Riders in yesterday said the trails are still very good.

Gun Control has already started at the Ironwood Wal Mart.

When I was ready to pay for my purchases of gun powder and bullets, the cashier said, “Strip down, facing me.”

Making a mental note to complain to the NRA about the gun control wackos running amok, I did just as she had instructed.

When the hysterical shrieking and alarms finally subsided, I found out that she was referring to how I should place my credit card in the card-reader.

I have been asked to shop elsewhere in the future. They need to make their instructions to us seniors a little clearer

We are still Grooming

Weather: Snow this week

Trail Conditions: Jacob says coming into town is crappy

First off I want to squash the rumors that the DNR is suspending grooming. We will be grooming as long as snow and temperatures permit up until March 31st.

Trails coming into town are getting bad but the woods is full of snow.

Becker was standing in the kitchen this morning, preparing our usual soft-boiled eggs and toast for breakfast, wearing only the ‘T’ shirt that she normally slept in.
As I walked in, almost awake, she turned to me and said softly, “You’ve got to make love to me this very moment!”

Not wanting to lose the moment, I embraced her and then gave it my all, right there on the kitchen table.

Afterwards she said, “Thanks,” and returned to the stove, her T-shirt still around her neck.

Happy, but a little puzzled, I asked, “What was that all about?”

Becker explained, “The egg timer’s broken!!”

An inch is a good thing

Weather: An inch or so came down yesterday

Trail Conditions: Still great

We got an inch or so, making everything white again.  My parking lot was looking ugly there.  The woods has plenty of snow, the sun will be our worst enemy in the next couple of weeks.  But we have snow in the forecast for early next week and temps staying down for the most part.  I would bet we have one more good weekend and a good possibility of two.  I blew a hydraulic hose on the plow truck so I got to go see if I can get it fixed before I open.  I am sure a few of you will be in for beefs……….

I almost forgot, stop on in and see Kristie today, her first day back.

Honey I’m Home…….

Weather: Warmer today, then snow and cooling off

Trail Conditions: Still Fantastic

I want to thank my friend Brian who told me to use his sled for my ride, thanks for the offer Brian but at last minute I decided to just rent one from Timberline.  I just do not like borrowing stuff, but thank you very much for the offer.

Wow what a great couple of days, I took off Monday afternoon and rode up to Hancock.  I seen 3 sleds in 80 miles.  It was 55 degrees when I left, the trails were soft but very smooth, 13 going into Rockland was choppy but if I got going over 50 they leveled right off.  Everything else was smooth as could be.  Tuesday I sat in a food manger’s course that we are required to do every 5 years.  Hopefully I passed the test and will be able to serve beefs next year.

Tuesday night I rode to Calumet and stayed at the Trail Side Lodge  I think I only seen one sled on the way. I took a ride into town and visited Shuties Bar, It is a must see.  They have a Brunswick Canopy over the bar that is very rare.  The inside of the place was really amazing, it was like taking a step back in time.

Wednesday was the coldest day, around 10 degrees, but I needed to go for a ride, so Copper Harbor or bust.  Flat, smooth and lonesome the trails were, I seen 4 sleds on the way up.  Trails were second to none, it was a very nice and uneventful ride.  I ate at Zik’s and had a very good Buffalo Chicken sandwich.  I debated staying overnight, but there was no one around.  I seen 2 sleds go by while I was there.  So I decided to head back south.  I rode back to the Ramada in Calumet where I had dinner and a few brews and then just soaked in the whirlpool tub for a while.

Thursday I headed back home, slowly, I really didn’t want it to end.  I stopped to see Don at the Mosquito and BS about the snowmobile season. From there I headed to Krupp’s and had one of their delicious Pastys with gravy.  After that it was a stop at Beer Belly Bob’s place in Greenland.  Next stop was Bergland where I dropped off the Sled.

I rode about 330 miles and the only rough trail I hit was 13 by Rockland.  On my way home 13 was a little better but I met the groomer half way and after I passed him, holy crap, my belly was slapping me in the chin and on my nuts.  My man boobs hurt like hell too.  Hopefully after the groomer made it all the way down and went back up again it flattened things out. 7 miles of bad trail out of 330 was not too bad at all.  Maybe I should have had 2 more beers with Beer Belly Bob………….

Back at home in Hancock

Weather: warmer tomorrow

trail Conditions: hard, flat and a little icy

i left Calumet this morning and headed to Copper Harbor, trails were flat as could be but by later in the day they were getting pretty icy.  I only seen 3 sleds on the way up and 8 sleds on the way back.  Any bar I stopped at,  I was the only one in the place.  Conditions will stay good through March, get your asses up here……..
