Trail 2 Closing next year in Ironwood.

Weather: Eeks 50 today and sunshine

Trail Conditions: Some will last a while but towns are going to get bad quick.  .

I think some of the trails are going to be good for a while but with the forecast ahead we are just going to go straight down hill. I only have one case of beef left, I don’t think I will be ordering any more until next year.

Now for the bad news. Read this Trail 2 closing – HCS Snowmobile Forums

I have bitched about this for years and now it has started. I would be surprised if this can be worked out with the land owner, but let’s hope that it can be. This is also a section of the trail that the ATV club was hoping to get an easement for. What do you think the chances of that happening now are. I think businesses up here ought to start a “Ban the Can” campaign. If your sled is too loud don’t come into my place. I don’t need your money, you are only costing me money. But I doubt they would do that, they won’t even tell you the truth about trail conditions, why would they turn down money from anyone?

Sorry no joke today, I’m just pissed. If you have a can stay the hell out of Bergland, we don’t want you or your buddies that are stupid enough to ride with you.

Weather: Unseasonably warm.

Trail Conditions: Good considering the weather,  .

The trails held up yet another day. At least for the traffic and warm weather they held up way better than I expected. Most riders I talked to said conditions were pretty good yesterday. We are getting pretty low on beefs, I’ll probably run out early this week. I think the trails will be ok for a while, I still plan on heading north tomorrow. I’ll see how things go, I am just guessing that I will find a lot better conditions that what I think they will be right now.

The IRS sends their auditor (a nasty little man) to audit a synagogue.

The auditor is doing all the checks, and then turns to the Rabbi and
says, “I noticed that you buy a lot of candles.”

“Yes,” answered the Rabbi.

“Well, Rabbi, what do you do with the candle drippings?” he asked.

“A good question,” noted the Rabbi. “We actually save them up. When we
have enough, we send them back to the candle maker and every now and
then, they send us a free box of candles.”

“Oh,” replied the auditor somewhat disappointed that his question
actually had a practical answer. ? So he thought he’d try another
question, in his obnoxious way…

“Rabbi, what about all these matzo purchases? What do you do with the
crumbs from the matzo?

“Ah, yes,” replied the Rabbi calmly, “we actually collect up the
crumbs, we send them in a box back to the manufacturer and every now
and then, they send a free box of matzo balls.”

“Oh,” replied the auditor, thinking hard how to fluster the Rabbi.

“Well, Rabbi,” he went on, “what do you do with all the foreskins from
the circumcisions?”

“Yes, here too, we do not waste,” answered the Rabbi. “What we do is
save up all the foreskins, and when we have enough we actually send
them to the IRS .”

“To the IRS ?” questioned the auditor in disbelief.

“Ah, yes,” replied the Rabbi, “directly to The IRS …And about once a
year, they send us a little prick like you.”

Special Report

Just a little shout out to the person who was climbing the snowbanks in the parking lot across the street from the bar around midnight last night with the loud pipes that gave Becker the finger when she tried to get you to stop. It is people like you that bring the DNR to town, and you would probably be the first one to complain about them being here. Please DON’T COME BACK. People like you ruin it for everyone. Maybe your friend that was sitting on his sled waiting can explain it to you.

Also thanks to the asshole that took the phone chargers from the bar. I put them out for everyone to use, but you just had to be an asshole.

Weather: SUCKS.

Trail Conditions: Enjoy it while you can, next week’s forecast does not look good.

The trails held up yesterday but were getting soft by later in the day. Temps are into the 40’s next week and just below freezing at night. I think there is still some good riding to be had but getting in and out of towns is going to get uglier as the week goes by. I think it will depend on the sun and the wind as to how quick.

John O’Reilly hoisted his beer and said, “Here’s to spending the rest of me life, between the legs of me wife !”  That won him the top prize at the pub for the best toast of the night !

He went home and told his wife, Mary, “I won the prize for the best toast of the night.” She said, “Aye, did ye now. And what was your toast?”
John said, “Here’s to spending the rest of me life, sitting in church beside Me wife.”
“Oh, that is very nice indeed, John!” Mary said.
The next day, Mary ran into one of John’s drinking buddies on the street corner. The man chuckled leeringly and said, “John won the prize the other Night at the pub with a toast about you, Mary.”
She said, “Aye, he told me, and I was a bit surprised myself. You know, he’s only been in there twice in the last four years. “Once I had to pull him by the ears to make him come, and the other time he fell asleep”.

Weather: Warm up starts today.

Trail Conditions: Good to Very good. We will see for how long.

Riders have been saying conditions are great. But it looks like there are going to be a lot of sleds around and temps are going to be warm so they could get pretty tore up by the end of the weekend. Warm next week but I’m sure they will be grooming as it is below freezing at night and I don’t think many sleds will be around. So I am guessing it will be good riding for a while. I am hoping anyway.

One year, I decided to buy my mother-in-law a cemetery plot as a Christmas gift…

The next year, I didn’t buy her a gift.
When she asked me why, I replied,
“Well, you still haven’t used the gift I bought you last year!”
And that’s how the fight started…..

Weather: Cold today, tomorrow starts a warm up

Trail Conditions: Good to Very good.

-5 degrees this morning, you sure can’t tell we are headed into a warm up with today’s temps. Temps for the next week are warming up but still below freezing at night. I think this weekend things will still be very good and even into next week. I still plan on heading out Monday morning. My web cams are going to start showing pretty shitty pics next week as the snow melts in town. I guess I will have to post some pics from out on the trails. Temps up towards Copper Harbor are going to be 5-8 degrees cooler than us next week. I am not sure where I am headed Monday, but I think north will be the direction.

An elderly Italian man who lived on the outskirts of Rimini, Italy, went to church for confession in 1960.

When the priest slid open the panel in the confessional, the man said, “Father, during World War II, a beautiful Jewish woman from our neighborhood knocked urgently on my door and asked me to hide her from the Nazis. So I hid her in my attic.”

The priest replied, “That was a wonderful thing you did, and you have no need to confess that.”

“There is more to tell, Father. She started to repay me with sexual favors. This happened several times a week, and sometimes twice on Sundays.”

The priest said, “That was a long time ago and by doing what you did, you placed the two of you in great danger, but two people under those circumstances can easily succumb to the weakness of the flesh. However, if you are truly sorry for your actions, you are indeed forgiven.”

“Thank you, Father. That is a great load off my mind. I do have one more question.”

“And what is that?” asked the priest.

“Should I tell her the war is over?”

3-4-15 10am

Weather: Cold and snowy.

Trail Conditions: Good to Very good.

-2 degrees and snowing. We picked up a few inches yesterday and a couple more might come down today. This weekend it is going to warm up and then even warmer next week. I think conditions will be good next week, it is still below freezing at night. Sun and traffic could take its toll but I think the temps will keep most people away. That may just save the trails, and depending on temps after next weekend, it may be good for a while still. The trails usually last in the woods after the towns go to crap.

The fat lady is not singing, no one has even seen her. In fact I heard she is busy looking for her dog.

Weather: Well it is supposed to snow today.

Trail Conditions: Good to Very good. They get soft quick when the suns out though.

Had groups in yesterday that said they had the best ride ever. Temps seem to getting warmer, bummer but it is getting to be that time of year. There is a lot of snow out there in them woods, it will take a beating for a while. Next week is showing signs of high 30’s but I still plan on going out if I get rid of this damn cold. Hopefully we get some cold on the back end of the warm up and we last a few more weeks, only time will tell right now. We are good for two more weekends I think, maybe three or four if we get some more cold ass weather.

A woman was in a coma. She had been in it for months.
The nurses were in her room giving her a bed bath.
One was washing her private area and noticed that there
was a slight response on the monitor whenever she touched her there.
They tried it again and sure enough, there was definite movement.

They found her husband and told him what happened, telling him,
“As crazy as it sounds, a little oral sex may do the trick and bring
her out of the coma.”

The husband was skeptical, but they assured him that they would
close the curtains for privacy. The husband finally agreed and went
into his wife’s room.

After a few minutes the woman’s monitor flat lined, no pulse, no heart
rate. The nurses ran back into the room.

“What happened?” they cried.

The husband said, “I’m not sure; maybe she choked!”

Weather: Snow tomorrow and warmer for the weekend

Trail Conditions: Good to Very good.

Trails were all in pretty good shape yesterday. Snow coming in tomorrow. Temps are down this week but look to be creeping up into the thirties for the weekend. So far next week even looks to be getting a bit warmer, trails will be fine for a while so we will see what happens after that. I am still planning to go for a ride next week so I may be able to give a trail side report. If it gets that warm it may change my plans a bit and I may have to head north again instead of east.

Weather: Warmer and snow possible

Trail Conditions: Good to Very good.

From talking to riders it sounds like 1 north got bit up a bit yesterday, I’m sure the some of the others got beat up a bit with all the traffic and warm sun beating down. We have warm temps the next few day but it is still getting cold at night. I didn’t expect all the traffic that we had this weekend, in fact Friday was one of the busiest days we had all year.  Why, I have no idea, I figured it would be winding down this weekend and then we get hit big time. But a big thank you to everyone that stopped in. I’ll never understand business in the UP, it is either feast or famine.

It’s March 1st and usually it slows way down. I am planning on taking off for a ride on the 9th, hopefully that week is a lot slower. Did I really say that? As March goes on either all of you get into other interests or don’t believe the trails are still in good shape. I have road in March the last 3 or 4 years and I have always have great conditions. We groom till the end of March, weather permitting, time will tell how the rest of the month plays out.

A shout out to Joe Cretney, you had to try and fly your sled at the Skyview, you missed the beef buddy.

COLD WINTER WEATHER REPORT
It’s late fall and the Indians on a remote reservation in North Dakota asked their new chief if the coming winter was going to be cold  or mild.

Since he was a chief in a modern society, he had never been taught the old secrets. When he looked at the sky, he couldn’t tell what the winter was going to be like.

Nevertheless, to be on the safe side, he told his tribe that the winter was indeed going to be cold and that the members of the village should collect firewood to be prepared.

But, being a practical leader, after several days, he got an idea. He went to the phone booth, called the National Weather Service and asked, ‘Is the coming winter going to be cold?’

‘It looks like this winter is going to be quite cold,’ the meteorologist at the weather service responded.

So the chief went back to his people and told them to collect even more firewood in order to be prepared.

A week later, he called the National Weather Service again. ‘Does it still look like it is going to be a very cold winter?’

‘Yes,’ the man at National Weather Service again replied, ‘it’s going to be a very cold winter.’

The chief again went back to his people and ordered them to collect every scrap of firewood they could find.

Two weeks later, the chief called the National Weather Service again. ‘Are you absolutely sure that the winter is going to be very cold?’

‘Absolutely,’ the man replied.  ‘It’s looking more and more like it is going to be one of the coldest winters we’ve ever seen.’

‘How can you be so sure?’ the chief asked.

The weatherman replied,   ‘The Indians are collecting a shitload of firewood’
